Does anyone know if water in say a pond which is still evaporates faster or slower than water that is flowing i.e a river?

it would be very difficult to measure the rate of evaporation in a flowing water source like a river because the water is constantly being renewed. However, assuming you had a closed system like a ring and the water just went round and round instead of staying still, i would think it would evaporate faster. Motion between the mediums of air and water causes greater evaporation, which is why clothes on a line dry faster in a windy day. I don’t see that the water moving and the air being still is any different than the air moving and the water being still.
